I’ve always been an election day junkie but today I’m just in extra high gear. Although I’ll be spending it all by myself My hubby went to vote (less than an hour wait) and then was in work by like 10am and will probably be working till about Midnight. I brought him some lunch and got my walk in as well as my writing, editting, reading work (well most of it) but now I’m trying to make some phone calls to make sure people have gotten out and voted. It is easy to do! I was going to go over to a location near by and see if people needed rides and all but I think calling from home is a good option for me and I hope other candidates do similiar online volunteering in the future!
Hope everyone has gotten out to vote or is going to get out to vote. I’ve been harassing one of my siblings who hasn’t gone *grrrrr*
Happy Election Day Everyone!
I did vote last night. I arrived at the library at about 4:30 and I was done at 7pm. When I saw the length of the line, I knew the wait would be about 2 hours but I had brought books with me so I decided to stay. Only thing I didn’t realize was how freaking cold it was! At home, I thought it was in the 50′s but there was a lot of wind and we were standing in the shade. But, I’m still glad I went ahead and voted. Maybe I’ll actually do some volunteer work on Election Day?
Working a strange schedule today because I have Stanley Steamer coming to clean the carpets this afternoon. Makes my whole day feel a bit wonky. But, don’t we need wonky once in a while?
Don’t we need question marks?
Lots of question markes?
Trying out a new schedule today: AM–reading/study and housework PM–writing/volunteering (or misc). Seems to be going ok but had a bit of a kink in it and I still need to get out and get some exercise. I might have to do that soon even though the mail has not bothered to come yet *grumble*.
Weekend was a mix. Stressed with trying to find a way to work on what might be my final major “revision” of thesis and it took a lot of wrangling before I could finally get going in a postive way. What finally worked out is that I went through each poem just poem by poem until I could find one (that surprised me) that is the opening poem. I am then building from that poem forward with maybe a rough idea of what the final poem will be, but not exactly. I’m 15 poems in and need to try and maybe piece together about 5 more tonight.
Sunday we went ot the Obama rally in Charlotte. We actually jumped line a bit I think *grimace* which still makes me feel guilty but given how crowded it was inside and the sunburn that resulted I think anyone I may have passed will not regret it too much cause I couldn’t see anything. We have video though and I could here it. It was weird knowing you were near someone but you couldn’t catch a glimpse of them. Oh well. Still really interesting. I’m working up the nerve to make some of the phone calls this afternoon. Wish me luck!
