As today is Sept 1st I was obligated to take my monthly measurements. I am down 3 and 1/4 inches with most areas of my body losing about 1/2 an inch but (sorry guys but this is true) lost the most –1 1/4 inch from my chest. Ah, it is always the first to go My weight was 5 pounds down from last month. I think that is about all I can seem to lose no matter how much I diet and exercise. Two month total–over 7 inches and 7 pounds. Nice.
This has been a pretty peaceful Saturday for me. I have spoken very few words as I haven’t had to be around a lot of people. I think the evening, however, is going to feel a bit long with only myself and the sleepy cats to contend with.
I don’t normally exercise on the weekend as my husband and I generally hang out with each other but since he is visiting his brother I got in about an hour and a half with breaks at one of my many malls.
My mind, however, has more exercise. I have already completed all my reading and checked off my to-do list. I do have a book review to work on and a magazine to read but I am thinking my Tivo could really use some emptying out. Besides the reading, I also had some lovely email discussions about writing and publication which motivated me to go ahead and pull 6 poems to work on for Friday’s lit mag submission as well as the 5 poems I will need to turn in on 9-15 for distance workshop. I have a new sense of motivation and I think tomorrow will be a good day to work on some revising.
So which shall I watch tonight? Multiple episodes of Dateline off the DVR or _The Human Stain_ that I recorded off IFC? Hmmmmmm…Decisions…Decisions…Whichever goes best with popcorn
